Philanthropist Myra Kraft Being Laid To Rest

This article is more than 11 years old.

More than 5,000 people are expected to attend the public services Friday morning for philanthropist Myra Kraft.

The wife of the New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft died of cancer on Wednesday. She was 68.

The public services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Temple Emmanuel in Newton Centre.

Among those attending will be representatives of the many charities and organizations that Myra Kraft served.

She managed the Robert and Myra Kraft Family Foundation and was president of the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation, which contributed millions of dollars to charities. Kraft was also a trustee of her alma mater, Brandeis University. She served on and chaired boards and committees for many of Boston’s major non-profits.

Myra Kraft’s last major philanthropic gift with her husband came earlier this year: $20 million to Partners Healthcare to improve services in inner cities.

The Kraft family asks that instead of sending flowers, to donate to a scholarship fund in her name at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston.
