The debt ceiling standoff continues on Capitol Hill, just one week away from a potentially devastating debt crisis.

President Obama and House Speaker John Boehner addressed the nation separately Monday night, with Obama making a call for compromise, and Boehner saying talks with the White House have been futile.

Meantime a new poll shows financial anxiety is a growing problem for more Americans.

John Spooner, a well-known Boston money manager and financial adviser, joined Morning Edition Tuesday to find explain how investors feel during these uncertain economic times.

This program aired on July 26, 2011.
