43 Mass. Post Offices To Be Reviewed
More than 40 post offices in Massachusetts are among those being considered for closing by the financially-troubled U.S. Postal Service.
Boston, Newton and Springfield all have five branches on the list.
Several branches located on college campuses will also be reviewed, including those at Tufts University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
In all, 43 Massachusetts post offices are on the list, but coming under review doesn't necessarily mean a branch will close. Final decisions could take several months.
The Postal Service lost $8 billion last year.
