Gov. Deval Patrick is making a change in the leadership of his political organization.
Patrick's State House press secretary, Alex Goldstein, was named on Wednesday as the new executive director of the governor's political committee and of the TogetherPAC, a federal political action committee. Patrick formed it earlier this year to raise money for his activities on behalf of the national Democratic Party and President Obama's re-election campaign.
Goldstein will replace David O'Brien as head of the political committee. O'Brien will be joining Northwind Strategies, a political consulting firm run by Doug Rubin, Patrick's former chief of staff and campaign manager.
Kimberly Haberlin will replace Goldstein as State House press secretary. Haberlin currently serves as director of communications for the state office of Housing and Economic Development.
