Report: Mass. Colleges Among Nation's Most Expensive
A new report lists the cost of a higher education in Massachusetts as one of the highest in the nation.
With the number of high-profile institutions in Massachusetts, the cost of a private, four-year college education ranks as the most expensive in the nation — on average nearly $37,000 a year.
In its report, the College Board says a four-year public education in this state costs an average of $10,000 a year — eighth on the list.
A two-year public college or university ranks fifth.
Overall, tuition prices have continued to rise.
New England as a whole saw an average 4 percent annual increase in tuition over the past decade.
