With the South Carolina primary four days away, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney continues to command a substantial lead in the polls. Romney left the Palmetto State Tuesday afternoon for a fundraiser in New York City, but on Wednesday he'll be back on the trail in South Carolina.

Meanwhile, Romney's rivals are barnstorming around the state trying to stall his momentum. WBUR’s Monica Brady-Myerov is in the capital, Columbia, S.C., covering the action and joined Morning Edition Wednesday for more.

This program aired on January 18, 2012.
