Investigators say the lead helps them narrow down the direction Franco Garcia may have been going in when he left the bar Mary Ann's Feb. 22. The ATM is nearby.

Authorities have searched the Chestnut Hill Reservoir and campus area for days looking for clues to the 21-year-old chemistry major's disappearance.

Bank images show Garcia heading north on Chestnut Hill Avenue, at the Beacon Street intersection, at about 12:18 a.m.

That was just after friends last saw him in the bar, and about an hour before his cell phone last pinged off an area tower.

Newton Police Lt. Bruce Apotheker says the photos give investigators something else to go on.
