On Tuesday, GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney cruised to a victory in Connecticut, Rhode Island, Delaware, Pennsylvania and New York. But the former governor of Massachusetts delivered his victory speech in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Romney also announced his presidential bid in the Granite State, won the GOP primary there, and owns a house on Lake Winnipesaukee.

The speech marked what many are calling the start of the general election campaign and Romney wasted no time taking aim at President Obama, characterizing Obama's campaign as one of "diversions, distractions and distortions."

Jim Merrill, Romney's senior advisor in New Hampshire, joined WBUR's Morning Edition to discuss Romney's strategy in the state.

This program aired on April 25, 2012.
