Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick and first lady Diane Patrick will host "Their Courage to be New," an annual gala celebrating the milestones and achievements of immigrants and their families in greater Boston.

The Asian American Civic Association will host the 45th annual event on May 18. The nonprofit in Boston's Chinatown provides services to immigrants and economically disadvantaged people.

The gala will include an award ceremony, dinner, auction, a dragon dance and ethnic performances from all over the world. Performers will include jazz saxophonist Grace Kelly, a two-time winner of "Jazz Artist of the Year" at the Boston Music Awards.

Proceeds will allow the Asian American Civic Association to continue expanding its workforce development programs, English classes and social services.

This program aired on May 10, 2012. The audio for this program is not available.
