The brother-in-law of Rep. John Tierney is beginning a three-year prison sentence Friday, leaving behind more fodder for opponents of the representative for the state's 6th Congressional District.

Before surrendering to authorities Friday morning, Daniel Eremian repeated allegations that Tierney knew all about an illegal gambling ring run by both of his wife's brothers.

Tierney joined All Things Considered Friday and said he has no idea what Eremian is talking about, calling his allegations a "non-issue."

This program aired on June 29, 2012.
