Sen. Brown, Warren Gear Up For First Debate

The highly competitive U.S. Senate race in Massachusetts hits another level Thursday night, as Republican Sen. Scott Brown and Democrat Elizabeth Warren face off in the first of four televised debates.

Expect to hear Brown call his challenger “Professor Warren" over and over. The GOP incumbent says Warren has been getting paid a lot of money for a long time to argue and lecture at Harvard. Meaning: She'll be a good debater. Of course, he’s a lawyer, too.

It’s a little bit of an expectations game, and Warren is playing right along.

"I watched Scott Brown in his debates against Martha Coakley. And Scott Brown is a very able and very effective debater," Warren said.

WBZ-TV will broadcast the debate live at 7 p.m.

This program aired on September 20, 2012. The audio for this program is not available.
