Sen. Kerry Rumored To Be In Consideration For Defense Secretary

Washington and Boston are abuzz with news that President Obama is eyeing Sen. John Kerry as the next secretary of defense. That is not the cabinet post for which Sen. Kerry has long been considered a natural choice: secretary of state.

Michael Kranish, deputy Washington bureau chief for The Boston Globe, and co-author of a 2004 biography of Kerry, joined WBUR's All Things Considered host Steve Brown to discuss the Sen. Kerry's possible future in President Obama's cabinet.
