New MBTA GM Talks About The Job Ahead
ResumeThe new general manager of the MBTA, Beverly Scott, began her new job in Boston Monday.
She previously led Atlanta's transit system for five years, and she's the first African-American woman to head the T.
She spent Monday morning meeting commuters on the Blue and Orange lines, and she stopped by WBUR's studios in the afternoon to talk with WBUR's All Things Considered host Sacha Pfeiffer about the job ahead.
Scott takes over for Jonathan Davis, who served as interim GM for more than a year and returns to his old position of chief financial officer.
This program aired on December 17, 2012.
