Westford May Ban Certain Types Of Weapons

Westford may become the first town in the state to ban certain types of weapons.

Some town leaders have drafted a proposal to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines within town borders.

The plan could go before voters at the Westford Town Meeting in March.

Robert Jeffries, who is vice chair of the Westford Town Selectmen, floated the proposed bylaw and joined Morning Edition on Tuesday to talk about it.
