Springfield Man Arrested On Murder Charge

Springfield police say a dispute between members of rival car clubs and the theft of a sticker off a vehicle led to a fatal shooting last month.

Police announced that 22-year-old Benjamin Rivera was arrested on Monday and charged in connection with the May 22 shooting of Angel Llorens.

Rivera is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday on charges including murder and possession of a gun without a license.

Sgt. John Delaney says Rivera and the 22-year-old Llorens were involved in a dispute involving rival car clubs and a sticker stolen from the victim's vehicle. He says the shooting was not drug or gang-related.

Llorens was one of three men fatally shot in the city's Forest Park neighborhood in less than three weeks.

It's not clear if Rivera has a lawyer.
