Amy Lord's Family Thanks Southie

A Wilbraham family is thanking the people of South Boston for the outpouring of support they have received since the stabbing death of their daughter.

Amy Lord's body was found in a park in Hyde Park on July 23.

The 24-year-old grew up in Wilbraham, graduated from Bentley College, and moved to South Boston when she got a job with a digital media company.

The family said in a letter posted online that Lord found the same small-town values in Southie as she had grown up with and "loved everything" about the community.

The family thanked the people of South Boston for their "solidarity and connection" and for "embracing" Amy.

A 28-year-old Boston man has been charged with murder.
