Family Asks For Probe Of Assets Of Bulger, Cohorts

The family of a woman murdered in the 1980s is asking a judge to appoint a special investigator to look into money and other property connected to crime boss James "Whitey" Bulger and his associates, so those assets can be distributed to victims.

John and Robert Davis, brothers of Debra Davis, say in a petition filed in federal court Monday that the government has never made "a full and complete disclosure" of assets seized from Bulger and ex-associates Stephen "The Rifleman" Flemmi, John Martorano and Kevin Weeks.

Last month, Bulger was convicted in 11 of 19 murders in a racketeering indictment. The jury didn't make a finding in Davis' murder.

Prosecutors have asked a judge to order Bulger to forfeit more than $25 million. They've said they want the money to go to Bulger's victims.
