Man Arrested After Being Shot By Cape Cod Officer

A man shot by police on Cape Cod during a traffic stop two weeks ago has been arrested after being released from a hospital.

Barnstable police told the Cape Cod Times that they arrested 34-year-old town resident Scott Jean on Saturday after he was released from Massachusetts General Hospital. He was charged with multiple drug, assault and motor vehicle crimes.

Authorities say Barnstable police Detective Peter Ginnetty shot Jean in the arm Oct. 29 as Jean drove at two other officers during a traffic stop. Police say Jean had earlier struck two police vehicles and a civilian's car with his truck after refusing to stop.

Police say Jean illegally possessed nearly 240 oxycodone pills.

Jean was detained on bail. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.
