Mass. Public Skating Rinks Open For Season

Another sign that winter is right around the corner is the opening of public skating rinks in Massachusetts.

The state Department of Conservation and Recreation says the eight indoor skating rinks it runs are now open for the season, with the outdoor Kelly Rink in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood slated to open in mid-December if the weather allows.

In addition to the eight DCR-operated rinks in the Boston area, the agency also owns a number of facilities around the state that are managed by cities or towns, or outside groups.

A full list of the facilities and their hours of operation is available on the DCR's website.
