Chelsea Rep. O'Flaherty To Resign, Join Walsh Administration

Rep. Eugene O’Flaherty will resign from the House later this month to take a position as Boston Mayor Marty Walsh’s chief legal counsel, according to a source close to the Chelsea Democrat.

O’Flaherty, who represents Charlestown and has long chaired the House Committee on the Judiciary, will take on the role of corporation counsel in the Walsh administration.

In that role he'll oversee the city’s law department and responsible for all litigation to which the Boston is a party.
