Boston Cardinal O'Malley Upholds Dual Canonization

Massachusetts residents joined hundreds of thousands of people who crowded St. Peter's Square Sunday morning for the canonization of Popes John XXIII and John Paul II.

Among them was Boston Cardinal Sean O'Malley. Veteran Boston journalist and Boston University journalism professor R.D. Sahl spoke with the cardinal about some controversy over the dual canonization.

Despite criticism of Pope John Paul II for how he handled the sex abuse scandal crisis, and no second miracle for Pope John XXIII, Cardinal O'Malley defends the sainthood for both.
