2 Firefighters Injured In Boston Apartment Blaze

Boston officials say two city firefighters suffered minor injuries battling a three-alarm blaze at a South End apartment building.

Flames were shooting out of the top floor of the four-story building when firefighters arrived shortly before 7:30 a.m. Sunday. Everyone in the building at the time got out safely. Officials say five adults and two children were displaced from three apartments.

The two firefighters were taken to local hospitals. Fire officials say one of them has a shoulder injury and the other has a thumb wound.

Authorities say the fire was knocked down by about 8 a.m. The cause is under investigation.

Fire officials say they had to work around a BMW car parked in front of a fire hydrant.
