1 Dead, 1 Hurt In Boston Porch Collapse

Authorities say one worker died and a second worker was critically injured when the porch they were installing at the rear of a Boston apartment building collapsed.

Emergency personnel responded to the three-story Jamaica Plain building at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

A police spokeswoman confirmed the death, but said it's unclear how far the workers fell.

A fire department official says it appears one worker fell from the third floor, and one from the second floor.

No names were released.

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the city's Inspectional Services Department are investigating.
