At MIT, Praise For Openness On Recent Student Suicide

Students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology are praising the school for its transparency and response to the most recent suicide of a student.

Freshman Matthew Nehring killed himself in an academic building Saturday.

MIT was quick to inform the students, and Tuesday night, held a gathering to remember Nehring.

WBUR's Fred Thys was there and joins Morning Edition to talk about students and community members he spoke with that night.
