Forecast: Partly Sunny, Breezy With Mild Highs

After a few overnight showers, skies have partially cleared, and we can look forward to a very nice afternoon. You might notice the breeze kicking up at times, but in general, the weather will be typical for the final days of April.

Dry and mild weather continues through Thursday with highs Wednesday the warmest of the next five days. Inland areas should reach well into the 60s, and even in Boston, highs will get in the 60s.

If you live along the coastal areas including Cape Cod, this is the time of year your temperatures can be quite cool in the afternoon as compared to those living just a few miles away from the water. Sometimes, Logan Airport can be stuck in the 50s while Newton and points west are near 70 degrees.

On Friday, a coastal storm will brush the area and bring a chance for rain, but a certainty of cool readings. Highs on Friday may not break 50 degrees along the coast, while reaching the low to mid-50s inland.

The exact track of this storm will determine who sees showers, a steady rain or just sprinkles. I’ll have much more Wednesday on the storm's potential path.

The weekend is looking quite nice with a warming trend. If you want to pick one of the two weekend days for outdoor activities, use Sunday, as that day looks picture perfect with highs in the 60s to perhaps near 70 inland. More areas will reach and exceed 70 next week, too.

Today: Partly sunny, breezy at times. Highs 55-60.

Tonight: partly cloudy, with a low around 35.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny and milder. Highs 60-65.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 60.

Friday: Cloudy and cool. A period of showers possible. Highs 48-54.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high approaching 60.
