Forecast: Hot And Humid With Temps In 90s

There is little doubt to me that Boston will experience its third consecutive day of 90-degree weather, as full sunshine and a westerly winds will prevent a sea breeze from forming.

Humidity levels remain high and many areas will be in the 80s by the mid to late morning period. I expect the 90s to start showing up around or just after noon.

Although a few areas have received rainfall over the past three days, more areas are in need of water. After the dry April and May, June and the first part of July provided adequate moisture for growing. The past 10 days has been quite dry, however. I have not had any rain since Friday, July 17, and the garden is definitely in need of irrigation.

Today is going to be a wonderful beach day. With light winds and abundant sunshine any place by the water will be a real treat. Since we haven’t seen an abundance of beach days this year, it makes today even better.

The tide will be high around 10:30 a.m. and it’s a fairly high level of the month, though not the highest. That comes Thursday just after 11 a.m.

A cold front will cross the area on Thursday evening bringing again a chance of some showers and storms. There is a chance this line of showers will produce some much needed rain across parts of the area, but if we don’t see any this time, it’s going to be another five days before the chance of showers returns sometime next Tuesday.

Friday and the weekend bring drier air, but still very warm. Dew points will fall to the 50s and lower 60s, but in spite of the lower humidity, it will still be quite warm reaching the upper 80s throughout the weekend.

Today: Sunshine mixing with afternoon clouds. Hot and humid. Highs 88-94.

Tonight: Warm and generally clear, with a low around 70.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high in the upper 80s to lower 90s.

Friday: Sunny, with a high in the mid 80s.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high in the upper 80s.

Sunday: Sunny and continued very warm and more humid. Highs in the upper 80s.
