Police: Brockton Man Shot In Neck Inside Sedan, Later Dies

Officials say a 27-year-old Massachusetts man is dead after he was shot in the neck.

Brockton Fire Deputy Chief Brian Nardelli tells The Enterprise the Brockton man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries Monday evening. A Plymouth County District Attorney spokeswoman says he died around 6:45 p.m. after undergoing emergency surgery.

Brockton police responded to reports of a robbery with a man shot and found the man inside a sedan around 3:45 p.m. with a gunshot wound to the side of his neck. Police were searching for a white pickup truck.

Officers were looking at a parked, black Nissan sedan. A pair of jeans were on the car's hood and a pair of sneakers could be seen on the ground nearby.

It was unclear if any arrests have been made.
