Photos: 155-Year-Old Church Bells Hoisted High To New Boston Home

Five church bells cast in 1859 and 1860 were hoisted Friday to their new home in the bell tower at Boston's Cathedral of the Holy Cross.
The bells were previously in the former Holy Trinity Church on Shawmut Avenue, according to the Archdiocese of Boston.
Construction workers raised the bells -- the largest weighing over 2,000 pounds -- into the cathedral bell tower throughout the morning.
The bells will be attached to a specially constructed frame in the top of the tower and be working in the next few weeks.
