Police: 2 Boston Officers Dragged From Moving Car In Mattapan

Authorities say two police officers were injured after a driver dragged them from a moving car while they were conducting a traffic stop in a Boston neighborhood.

Police say the incident happened at about 7 p.m. Sunday in Mattapan. The officers had pulled over a car at Blue Hill Avenue and Stratton Street. Police say the officers reached in both sides of the vehicle after the driver tried to get out of the car.

Police say the driver then put the car in gear, and the officers were dragged for a "significant distance" before the car crashed. They were taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital with minor injuries.

A police spokeswoman says the driver, whose identity has not been released, is in custody. The incident is under investigation.
