Forecast: Memorial Day Showers End By The Afternoon

There are showers in the forecast for this morning and some of them could contain heavy downpours and the rumble of thunder. The rain is being caused by a frontal system to our west and some inflow of tropical moisture to the south.

The area of rain is moving rather quickly and this means the bulk of the wet weather is over early this afternoon. It's not perfect after this, but it is better. I believe there will be some partial clearing, but also the chance of showers remains.

If you have morning activities they will likely be cancelled or postponed. After 2 or 3 p.m., the chances it remains dry for any events increases. I can't say there won't be any showers or even a thunderstorm, but a large segment of us remain dry for the latter part of the afternoon and evening.

There could me another round of showers Monday evening, but when most of you are either sleeping or back indoors for the night.

Tuesday is a stunning day — sunny, warm and perfect for the beach. If you want to extend the three-day weekend and make it a four-day one, this is the day.

The weather turns cloudy and cooler at the end of this week.
