Mass. House Takes Up Transgender Bill A Day After Gov. Baker Says He Would Sign It

As the Massachusetts House on Wednesday takes up legislation designed to outlaw discrimination against transgender people, backers of the effort have renewed optimism.

It comes from a statement made Tuesday by Gov. Charlie Baker, who said he would sign the bill before the House if it reaches his desk in its current format.
