Forecast: Cloudy And Sunny With Seasonably Cool Air

As you slept, did you enjoy last night's cool air? It was pretty amazing having temperatures in the 40s and 50s all night with a dry northwest wind. It looks like these comfy nights will continue through the weekend without any extreme humidity.

High pressure is building in from Canada, and after two days of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, we will enjoy several days of dry and seasonably mild weather.

The high has Canadian origins, and as such, the air is refreshing and cool. If this was July or August we’d see temperatures into the 70s, but since it’s still early June we will only reach the upper 60s the two days.

The sunrises have now reached their zenith at 5:07 a.m. in Boston and will remain here for the next 11 mornings. These are our earliest sunrises of the year and almost the latest sunsets. Those won’t peak for another two weeks.

What’s also occurring right now is the distance the sun travels across the sky is at its maximum. The sun is rising north of east and setting north of west. In the dead of winter, the sun stays in the southern sky.

The weekend, especially Saturday, looks nice. On Sunday a weak weather system will move through and will be strong enough for a few showers — but it won't be a washout.

I expect many areas Sunday will only see a few hours of rainfall. The timing of these showers isn’t quite known yet, but it looks like they will end by 10 a.m., giving us a mostly sunny Sunday.
