A jury Friday acquitted former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez in a 2012 double-murder in Boston's South End.

Hernandez was found not guilty of first degree murder for the killings of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado.

The former Patriots star was convicted on just one count — illegal possession of a gun.

Hernandez is already serving a life sentence for the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd.

WBUR's Fred Thys spoke with people involved in the case after the verdict and joined All Things Considered.

This segment aired on April 14, 2017.
