Robert Mueller was appointed by the attorney general's office as special counsel to head the investigation into possible Russian interference in last year's presidential election.

Donald Stern, the former U.S. attorney for Massachusetts, knows Mueller professionally and personally. He joined Morning Edition to share his insights into who Mueller is and what he may bring to the investigation.
