A new report by the Boston-based law firm Ropes and Gray accuses executives with the U.S. Olympic Committee of reacting too slowly to claims that Larry Nassar sexually assaulted hundreds of young women looking to compete in the Olympics as gymnasts.

The report says the former CEO of USA Gymnastics and another top executive with the committee were well aware of allegations against Nassar, but took no action.

WBUR's sports and society reporter Shira Springer joined Morning Edition to talk about the report.

This segment aired on December 11, 2018.
