Mass. Now Has 10 Recreational Marijuana Shops Open

The state now has 10 recreational marijuana shops that are open.

Sanctuary in the north-central Massachusetts town of Gardner opened Wednesday.

The company said it will have a police detail on hand to help with traffic, and that customers need to make appointments ahead of time before shopping.

"As supply and demand in the region stabilizes over time, we fully intend to serve walk-in customers," Sanctuary, which began operating as a medical marijuana dispensary in November, says on its website.

Medical customers do not need to make appointments.
