Today's Weather: Dry And Sunny All Day

As the sun set yesterday you probably noticed the skies were clearing. That's set us up for a nice Thursday. I'm looking for temperatures this afternoon to be in the lower 50s. There won't be a lot of wind, but at times it will be breezy.

Tonight temperatures will fall down towards the freezing mark. Highs tomorrow get well into the 50s under a blend of clouds and sunshine. The Red Sox are in town and I don't foresee any issues with the weather. Late tomorrow, skies will become mostly cloudy, but any shower activity will hold off until very late Friday night. If you have plans to head out you won't need any umbrellas.

After midnight on Friday, we'll see showers across the region. This frontal system is moving a bit slow so some of the showers will last into Saturday morning. If you have any field games on Saturday they could be affected; the turf will definitely be wet.

As the rain pushes offshore, skies will begin to clear and temperatures will respond, heading into the 60s and eventually lower 70s. If we get a few more hours of sunshine, then readings could make it to the mid-70s, which could be one of the warmest days of the year so far.

Sunday is also partly sunny but clouds picking up later on in the afternoon, making temperatures cooler — between 60 and 65 in the afternoon.

Rain will start again Sunday night quite early and will continue into Monday. Depending on the track of a low pressure system, the rain will either taper off as the marathon begins, or it could last throughout the morning and into the early afternoon.

The track will also determine whether temperatures stay in the 40s all day or eventually reach well into the 50s. I'll have more on that tomorrow.
