9-Year-Old Boy Pulled From Hopkinton Lake Dies

A 9-year-old Massachusetts boy has died after being pulled from a lake in Hopkinton.

Police said in a statement that Jorge Santiago disappeared beneath the water at Lake Maspenock at about 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Several people who were on the beach at the time helped police search for the boy, who was located within minutes and later flown to University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester.

Police say the boy died at the hospital early Monday.
