Boston police have arrested two men suspected in a shooting that injured an 8-year-old girl and 35-year-old man during July Fourth celebrations.

Police said 28-year-old Ian King and 31-year-old Nathas Jacquecine were arrested Friday in the city's Mattapan neighborhood.

They face charges including assault with intent to murder and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon.

Police say the child and man were shot near a park in the city's Dorchester neighborhood at about 11 p.m. on July 4 as area residents celebrated the holiday.

The men are scheduled to be arraigned Monday in the Dorchester District Court. It wasn't immediately clear Saturday if they have attorneys.
