Today's Weather: Not Much Sun This Monday — And For Days To Come

Sunday's rain is now over, but we are looking at a rather dismal forecast for much of the week.

Before we get to today's weather, let me just mention that tides are astronomically high over the next few days and we will likely see some minor coastal flooding at high tide. The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory for some areas of the state. Water levels peak around midnight and noon today and will get roughly an hour later each day this week. I think the threat of flooding diminishes after Wednesday.

After a few spots of drizzle this morning, it will basically just be a cloudy day. Temperatures will be seasonable. Tuesday is fairly similar, with a lot of clouds, a peak of sun and a quick shower.

Wednesday may yield some sunshine if things turn out a bit more optimistic. It's not going to be a bright, sunny day — that is for sure — but there is the chance that we could see a few glimpses of the sun, along with a risk of a shower.

Thursday is Halloween, but judging by the forecast, it looks more like a trick than a treat. Showers will be moving into the region during the day. At the same time, warmer air will be moving northward. The timing of how quickly the warm air arrives will determine just what temperatures are as the kids are heading out to collect candy Thursday evening. Right now, it just doesn't look dry.

More showers continue Friday and there could be even be some heavy downpours with temperatures above average. An early look at the weekend shows it will likely bring sunshine and cooler temperatures, but still no real cold air in sight.
