Today's Weather: Dreary Clouds Continue

This morning marks the 201st day that Boston has not gone below 40 degrees. This ties the record for the most consecutive days that have stayed above 40, and we will break that record tomorrow.

There's also the possibility of some minor coastal flooding at the time of high tide early this afternoon. There was minor splash over and some roads were closed Monday as the water levels rose. I don't think we will see the tides quite as high this afternoon.

Although we're not seeing much in the way of sunshine, temperatures are remaining at or above average, especially at night.

There’s only a couple of days left in the month, with Halloween on Thursday. Before we get there, we're going to have to contend with all these clouds and then a quick-hitting rainstorm arrives.

Along with the wet weather Thursday into early Friday, humidity levels are going to approach summertime readings. Dew point is a measure of  the amount of moisture in the air, and it will rise well into the 60s Thursday and Friday. It will definitely be sticky. Showers will arrive in earnest on Thursday from roughly 4 to 8 p.m.

Plenty of kids will be out on the streets hunting for candy, and it will be a good idea to take an umbrella with you this year. But you or the ghosts and goblins will not need any jackets to cover up, with temperatures between 65 and 70.

The showers will come to an end sometime Friday morning. There may be some clearing late in the day, but the weekend is definitely going to be quite nice. The humidity will be pushed rapidly out to sea Friday and it will be crisp in fall like for Saturday and Sunday with plenty of sunshine.
