Man Shot And Killed In His Brockton Driveway

Massachusetts State Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 26-year-old man who was slain in his Brockton driveway.

Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz's office said in a tweet issued Saturday that investigators do not believe the Friday night shooting was a random act. They're urging anyone with information about the crime to contact Brockton Police or State Police detectives.

The Brockton Enterprise reports that police and emergency personnel were called to a home on Shaw Road shortly after 9 p.m. on Friday. They found the victim, Marshawn A. Potts, in the driveway, suffering from apparent gun shot wounds. It was determined at the scene that he was dead.

Brian Allen, a neighbor who lives across the street, told the newspaper he didn't know the victim and it was the first time had ever seen a police cruiser at the home, where the DA's office confirmed Potts had lived. Allen said most people in the neighborhood keep to themselves.

No arrests had been made as of Saturday.
