Uber Driver Charged With Sexually Assaulting Passenger Inside Victim's Home

An Uber driver from Massachusetts has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman he drove home from a Christmas party last weekend, police said.

Josue Henriquez, 28, of Acushnet, picked up two roommates in Burlington on Friday night and drove them to Leominster, Lt. Richard Kinney said Monday.

Henriquez was invited into the home for a drink. Sometime on Saturday morning, the women called police to report the alleged assault.

The alleged victim's roommate punched Henriquez several times and chased him from the home, Kinney said.

Henriquez left his wallet and keys behind and broke into the house to retrieve them, Kinney said.

Officers found Henriquez nearby after his vehicle got stuck in a snowbank.

He fought officers and had to be subdued with the help of a stun gun, Kinney said.

Henriquez was arraigned on several charges including indecent battery and assault Monday and held pending a hearing Thursday to determine whether he is dangerous.

It was not clear who represented him in court.

Uber says it is investigating and has banned Henriquez from the app.
