Police Cite 80-Year-Old Man In Arlington Hit-And-Run

Arlington Police have cited an 80-year-old man in a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian Saturday night, Chief Julie Flaherty reports.

The crash occurred on Massachusetts Avenue in East Arlington. Police said the driver, who was operating a blue Honda Civic, fled the scene before police could arrive.

The victim, a 48-year-old Baldwinwille man, was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. As of Sunday morning, the man is in stable condition, according to Flaherty.

The suspect, whom police did not identify, will be cited with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash with injuries. He'll be arraigned at Cambridge District Court "at a later date," according to police.

The department is still investigating the cause of the crash.
