Today's Weather: A Few Showers Ahead Of Clearing Skies

Temperatures overnight were not as cold as we saw early Monday morning, thanks in part to some light cloud cover.

For Tuesday, expect areas of light mixed precipitation in the morning, followed by a couple of showers during the day and into the afternoon.

This weather system will not produce a lot of rain. Some areas may stay almost completely dry, while other spots could see between a tenth- and quarter- inch of rainfall.

This particular frontal system is a fast mover, which means we're see a return to sunshine tomorrow. It'll be a good day to get outside for a little exercise, or to take the kids for a walk.

The next weather system headed for the region may bring rain on Thursday, especially in the morning. Once again, temperatures may be just cold enough for a little bit of mixed precipitation or a sloppy coating of snow well north and west of Route 495.

On Friday, warmer air will surge into the region, and temperatures get into the 60s to near 70. You may even get a little mugginess with that wormth.

As we head for the weekend, look for clearing skies. Building high pressure will bring plenty of sunshine, but it is going to be cooler again with temperatures near 50 Saturday and perhaps even in the 40s on Sunday.
