Man Arrested After Woman's Body Found In Mashpee Apartment

A Massachusetts man is facing a murder charge in the death of a woman whose body was found in a Cape Cod apartment, prosecutors said.

Mashpee police arrested a 46-year-old man Thursday after discovering a woman "with obvious signs of blunt force trauma," according to a statement from prosecutors.

Fire Capt. Joseph Fellows said the suspect was flown from the Mashpee public safety complex in critical condition with stab wounds to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth.

A neighbor, Matthew Clifford, said that he did not know many people who lived in the apartment and that the man who lived there kept to himself and was quiet.

Officials have not released details.
