Prosecutors Identify Man Killed In Lynn Shooting That Left 5 Others Wounded

Officials have identified the man killed in a shooting in Lynn on Saturday that left five others hospitalized.

Gustavo Santana, 31, of Lynn, died that evening after police found him suffering from gunshot wounds among the other victims, a spokeswoman for the Essex County District Attorney's office said Monday. Officials have said the victims were shot while filming a music video.

Police found the six victims scattered along a dead-end street, Lynn police Lt. Michael Kmiec told news outlets.

The five surviving victims were alive as of Monday morning, according to the DA's office.

Virgil Banaver told WBUR he saw one of the victims after the shooting.

"He was running in the middle of the street trying to stop cars and he ran right by me screaming, 'Call 911! I've been shot! I've been shot!' So I called 911,” he said.

Travis Lorini, 30, told The Boston Globe that he heard a barrage of gunfire and smelled gunpowder.

“Just seemed like someone held the trigger down and let all the bullets out at once. It sounded faster than a book of fireworks,” he said.

No arrests were made as of Sunday morning, and the names of the surviving victims have not been released. The investigation has been handed over to the prosecutor's office, Kmiec said.
