WATCH LIVE: Baker to declare snow emergency ahead of massive nor'easter

Gov. Charlie Baker is expected to discuss the state's preparations as a colossal nor'easter bears down on the region. The press conference is set to begin at 5 p.m.

WBUR meteorologist Dave Epstein says Boston may be in for up to 18 inches or more of snow from this storm, with pockets of the South Shore seeing more than two feet. A Blizzard warning is in place for most of the state, and snow could fall a clip of 2-4 inches per hour at time.

State and municipal officials have urged people to stay off the roads to allow plow drivers the space needed to try and keep up with the snow.
