More than 8,000 NAACP delegates are in Boston for the group’s annual convention.

It begins today at the Boston Convention and Exhibition center in the Seaport, with the theme of "thriving together." This – in a city with an infamous history of racism and wide ongoing disparities.

Sheena Collier is the founder of Boston While Black, a network of local professionals and activists. She joined WBUR's Morning Edition to discuss the convention.
