How federal funding freezes can impact ability to detect and prepare for the next pandemic

04:30

Some scientists are worried that funding cuts and freezes for aid programs may impact the ability to detect and react to the next pandemic.

One of those people is Dr. Nahid Bhadelia, a founding director of the Boston University Center on Emerging Infectious Diseases and an advisor for Global COVID-19 Response during the Biden administration.

She joins WBUR's Morning Edition to talk about lessons learned from the COVID pandemic and how prepared we are for the next one.

This segment aired on March 10, 2025.
